  3. My friends, my husband and myself came to the 20/20 match. A few days prior to the day one of my friends phoned to make a booking for the buffet but was told it was fully booked. He then asked about booking either cheese & biscuits or afternoon tea. He was told to book either of these on the day and before 4pm.
On the day of the 20/20 we made enquiries about booking at around 12pm. We were referred to the event organiser (a man wearing a pink shirt possibly named Mr Tyrrell) who told us to book with the caterers when the buffet meal started being served and pay the caterers. When I saw the meals being served my friends asked me to enquire again. This time the event organiser told me to wait until deserts were being served, in about an hour & half. I noticed deserts being served and again my friends sent me to enquire. I went straight to the caterers to ask and they seemed happy to serve us however the event organiser came up to me saying he was in charge and he had already told me we had to wait until the guests in the marquee had left. I informed him that wasn't what he said when we asked before and that I was sent to ask on behalf of my friend who is disabled. The man replied that I knew before and I know now. He was extremely rude speaking me this way and especially in front of a marquee full of people and the catering staff. Frinton Cricket Ground has a lovely setting but never again will I go there and spend my money. Talk about smobbishness and to top it off the guests in the marquee didn't leave until well after 5pm. On the basis of what the event organiser said to me the final time he spoke to me there wasn't even any point of trying to order afternoon tea. Disgusting!!
